Timeout with Matthew Modine WNBA.com's 20-second Timeout crew caught up with Matthew Modine, star of "Vision Quest" (a wrestling movie) and "Any Given Sunday" (a football movie). So we asked the obvious question. Have you ever played basketball? Modine: I did, in high school. But I didn't go to the next level. What position did you play? Modine: I was a forward. Do you still play? Modine: Yeah, I play in a church league with my brother-in-law in the Bronx? Are you the leading scorer? Modine: No, my brother-in-law is. He's got a sick shot from the three-point line. What is your prediction for the Liberty? Modine: Well, you're never supposed to make predictions, especially with the game going on. (Editor's note: We caught up with him at halftime.) I love this team. With everything they give the fans, we've already won. It's been four years now, and every night they leave their hearts on the floor. You can't be disappointed and come this far in the playoffs. If you could be any player on the Liberty, who would it be and why? Modine: When I look at Tamika's [Whitmore] game, that reminds me of when I played. I like her game. She hustles, she knows where the open player is on the court. She has a great sense of where she is on the court. And she has a good shot. She doesn't just throw it up. So many players have the tendency to throw the ball up. Tamika is a shooter.
