"It was a very hard fought, aggressive, physical game on both sides. It was an exciting game for the fans obviously. I was very proud of my team. They kept their composure once they got down 5 and 6 points, with the limited amount of time that was left on the clock. We executed down the stretch to perfection. We had some big shots; Crystal made a big three. Spoon played great defense, her and V.J., Crystal was switching out, which made them take tough shots. Stinson is not easy to guard, but V.J. played her well enough to make her pass the ball."

"It's a hard game for anyone to lose when you play that hard. So I take my hat off to them for the energy and the aggressiveness and tenacity that they played with. I was just happy that we were able to keep our composure and execute our offense down the stretch."

"They executed very well and got some good shots, but in the last two possessions our defense was superb. I'm very happy to get this win, obviously. But we understand that they are capable of winning away from home, they just proved that in Cleveland. They are very excellent basketball team."

Weatherspoon

"I just think that being there and knowing what the playoffs are all about, the level of basketball and all the intensity. We've been there and know what its like.

With three minutes and so many seconds remaining, we have a team with a lot of heart and with the desire to want to win. We never felt we were down and out, we just continue to work hard down the stretch. It's just a matter of really wanting something and wanting it bad enough. We feel when we turn it up defensively, we get easy baskets on the offensive end. We just really had to turn it up.

Like Coach said, Stinson is not very easy to defend. She does a tremendous job getting her teammates in their offensive set. I did the best job I could to keep her away from where she wanted to be to start the offense."

Robinson

Forward Crystal Robinson
"They played really great defense and we had to take some contested shots tonight. We really didn't shoot the ball that well in the first half. We came out in the second half and were able to knock down some tough shots. Like Spoon said, when this team plays defense, we get some easy baskets. Our offense comes a lot easier for us."

CHARLOTTE STING

"We were up nine with over three minutes on the clock, we felt like at that time that we had talked about their pressure and that we were ready for it. We just lost our composure a little bit against it. New York did a good job coming after us. We'll be more prepared and more poised on Sunday."

"I don't think we thought we had it in the bag. I think that New York picked up their emotion, picked up their pressure, picked up their energy level, and probably at that point, we didn't match it. I don't think we were walking away thinking that the game was won. We know we need to be focused for those last three and a half minutes of the game and this turns out differently."

Staley

"You really have to play this game for forty minutes. We didn't take care of business at, but we're going to have to be that much stronger when we go to New York. This wasn't a must win, a must win is Sunday afternoon for us. We're going to continue to hold our heads up. We let this game get away, but we don't feel like the series is over. If everybody else does, we don't "

"The last three minutes they put their pressure on us. That's about the only thing different about the last three minutes. Like coach said, we were prepared for it. They just came after us and things kind of got out of hand. This series is not over for us. We're going to go up there and be even stronger than we were here."
