WESTERN CONFERENCE FINALS GAME 1

Postgame Chat with DeLisha Milton

As part of the WNBA.com Postgame Show presented by IBM, L.A. forward DeLisha Milton participated in a live chat following the Sparks' Game 1 win over the Monarchs in the Western Conference Finals. Here's what Milton had to say:

sarah from proxy.aol.com at 11:32pm ET
What do you have to do in game 2? Good luck, I hope you get a championship!!

DeLisha Milton at 11:33pm ET
Thank you. The thing we have to do in Game 2 is really play Sparks basketball and not get caught up in the Monarchs. Stay in the running game and get Lisa the ball on the inside.
sparks#1fan at 11:33pm ET
That was a great game, congrats! Do you think you are unbeatable at Staples Center or do the Monarchs have a chance?

DeLisha Milton at 11:33pm ET
I think we do a very good job of winning at STAPLES center and I hope it's something we can carry on throughout the season.
ALMA. from cvx27-bradley.dialup.earthlink.net at 11:34pm ET
Sparks, you played an awesome game :) My friend and I were on the phone commentating about the game. We were jumping up and down when Leslie and Milton had an awesome double block :) I will be at the game on Sunday. What will it take to be the WNBA championship????

DeLisha Milton at 11:34pm ET
It's going to take us being very mature and learning from the mistakes that cost us last year. I think we made some crucial mistakes at the end of the year last year and we've learned from those and know how to respond to adversity.
Julie at 11:35pm ET
Can you compare this rivalry to the Kings-Lakers rivalry? How is it the same? How is it different?

DeLisha Milton at 11:36pm ET
I think that they're the same in that the fans really do get into the game and you hear everyone chanting "beat LA" and I think that's how they are with the Lakers. The place is always packed and full of energy, they're the sixth man. Nothing is very different, it's more alike than anything. Our guards have the same style of play and so do theirs. We have our Lisa and Shaq and they have their Yolanda and Webber.
sarah from proxy.aol.com at 11:36pm ET
Delisha I want to say congrats on the win. What are you going to do in Game 2 to get a win? Your my favorite player, and GOOD LUCK!!

DeLisha Milton at 11:38pm ET
Thanks! In Game 2 we're going to bring the same defensive intensity as I did tonight and really try to hone in on Yolanda Griffith and limit her touches within the offense and on the boards.
nasty D! at 11:38pm ET
Hey D! That was some great D at the end! It looked pretty intense out there, but were there any funny moments during the game?

DeLisha Milton at 11:39pm ET
Funny moments? The only one I can think of was I was coming back to the bench and I tripped. I didn't even see Tamecka's shoe come off!

DeLisha Milton at 11:40pm ET
I just want to say thanks for logging on and giving us all of your support via the web. Catch the rest of this great matchup on Sunday!! We'll see you then! Thanks to all the Sparks fans.
