EASTERN CONFERENCE FINALS GAME 1

Postgame Chat with Nancy Lieberman

As part of the WNBA.com Postgame Show presented by IBM, ESPN analyst Nancy Lieberman participated in a live chat following the Liberty's Game 1 win over the Sting in the Eastern Conference Finals. Here's what Lieberman had to say:

katy at 9:24pm ET
Hi. What was the difference in the game tonight?

Nancy Lieberman at 9:25pm ET
I think the difference was New York's defense the last 4-5 minutes of the game. They had to had stops and everytime they needed one they came up big. The 10-second backcourt violation was big. Robinson made some phenomenal shots.
Lib4ever at 9:25pm ET
How about that run at the end! How did the Liberty do that? Nancy, will this series go three games or will New York put it away?

Nancy Lieberman at 9:26pm ET
They pressure in on Charlotte now. New York had the pressure because of the format. Now Charlotte has to go into a very tough building and win two games. Charlotte had this game and they let it slip away.
Sting Fan at 9:26pm ET
Hi Nancy! Enjoyed your show tonight. My question is, what do the Sting need to do in order to win at the Garden? What adjustments do they have to make? Do you think they can win one up there? Thanks!

Nancy Lieberman at 9:28pm ET
They got a tremendous amount of points on the inside -- they outrebounded New York. They have to cut back on their turnovers and get more bench scoring. They need all of these and to match New York's intensity at the Garden.
Bobby P. at 9:28pm ET
Will Clarisse Machaguana think about those missed layups until they tip off Sunday?

Nancy Lieberman at 9:29pm ET
Clarisse is the ultimate competitor and i'm sure when she looks at the film it won't be easy for her. She'll make those shots everyday blindfolded. Those could have sealed the deal for Charlotte.
MOE in NYC! at 9:29pm ET
Who was your game MVP??

Nancy Lieberman at 9:29pm ET
Crystal Robinson was the MVP of the game with her clutch makes down the stretch.
feaster fan at 9:30pm ET
What does New York need to do to take the series?

Nancy Lieberman at 9:30pm ET
New York can't afford to get down by nine points again and need to cut down on their turnovers. They need to get some production in the paint and can't rely on Phillips. Whitmore needs to step up. Wicks played phenomenally from the bench.

Nancy Lieberman at 9:31pm ET
To everyone who sent in your questions, thanks for taking your time. I'm looking forward to the rest of the WNBA playoffs and stay tuned for Game 2! Join us again right here!
