TAKE AN INSIDE LOOK AT THE POSTSEASON
WNBA.commentator: Tamecka Dixon

Dixon

Tamecka Dixon is having a golden year, starting with the shiny shoes that have adorned her feet to her first ever All-Star selection. The 5-9 guard is second on the Sparks in scoring with 11.7 ppg and leads the team in assists at 4.0 per game. Now Dixon hopes to adorn her hand with a gold WNBA championship ring.

Between Games 1 and 2 of the Western Conference Finals, Dixon answered a selection of fan emails.

Tamecka, I have been a season ticket holder for five years and I have watched you play and I have been one of your biggest fans. My question to you is how do you keep such a great attitude on the floor no matter what happens? (Because you are always smiling) Keep up the good work, you are the greatest!
Anna
Los Angeles

Dixon: It's hard to keep such a good attitude but I think that smiling kind of nudges everything off and helps you play within the moment. I think that is one of the reasons I've been successful. I don't let whatever call it is bother me I don't let anything bother me I just try to continue to do whatever it is I'm doing.

I just want to congratulate the Los Angeles Sparks on making it to the WNBA playoffs. I am a Houston Comets fan and always will be. But I just want to give you and your teammates props for making it this far. I know anything is possible over the next few days because you are going against the hard working teams who made it to the playoffs too. How does it make you feel knowing that the "SPARKS" have a chance of being the new champion of the WNBA?
Tia
Chesapeake, Va.

Dixon: It's a tremendous honor. I think whoever it is that dethrones Houston and wins the WNBA Championship will be the ones to be remembered because Houston has done it for four years in a row.

Tamecka, do you eat anything special before a game?
Alexis
Inglewood, Calif.

Dixon: There's nothing really special that I eat right before a game. I try to eat some type of pasta the night before the game for the extra boost of energy but nothing before.

I don't really have any superstitions either. Besides my pregame nap and my music blasting on the way to the arena. I just try to focus in on the team or the task at hand and tune everything else out.

How did it feel to finnally be recognized as an "All-Star?"
Najwa
Kansas City, Mo.

Dixon: It feels good. I've been in the League five years and I believe it shows that hard work definitely pays off. I've been working really hard and I greatly appreciate it.

What is your favorite part of the game?
Edie
West Boylston, Mass.

Dixon: My favorite part of the game is the transition -- the transition game. Getting it in the fast break situation and being able to create opportunities for my teammates. I think those are the chances to get the fans and the crowd into it (the game) and I take full pride in being able to do that.
