Sydney Carter enters her first season with the Indiana Fever after appearances with three other teams…she was added to the Fever preseason roster on May 8…she was a junior captain on the 2011 Texas A&M team that won the NCAA national championship at Bankers Life Fieldhouse.
2013: Carter appeared in 15 games and started in one for Connecticut…she signed twice during the 2013 season as an emergency hardship replacement player…she was waived by Connecticut, 6/10, with the return of a healthy Renee Montgomery…she was re-signed by Connecticut, 8/23, after injuries to Kelly Faris and Allison Hightower…she scored a career-high 11 points at Washington, 9/13…she had a career-high 8 assists against Tulsa, 7/2.
2012: Carter appeared in one game for Chicago where she played nine minutes and recorded four points and a steal.
2013-14: Carter played for TTT Riga in Latvia.
2012-13: Carter was a member of Hapoel Galil Elyon in Israel.
Carter graduated from Texas A&M but not before winning a national championship in her junior year…she finished her career ranked third in Big 12 games played during a career (140), first in career free throw percentage (.820, 296-361) at Texas A&M, and fifth all-time in career 3-point field goals made (130) and career 3-point field goals attempted (400) as an Aggie.
2011-12: Carter was named to the Big 12 All-Defensive Team and All-Big 12 Second Team…she was named Junkanoo Jam MVP…she was named a team captain, starting in 34 games and averaging 10.9 points, 3.3 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 1.9 steals per game…she ranked fifth in the Big 12 and led the team with an 81.9 free throw percentage…she registered her third straight 100+ assist season…she contributed seven assists, six rebounds and 13 points against No. 5 Maryland, 3/25, in the NCAA Sweet Sixteen…Carter had 18 points, going 8-of-13 (.615) from the floor, and a career-best eight assists and a team-high seven rebounds versus Kansas, 3/8, in the Big 12 quarterfinals…she scored a career and game-high 25 points against Texas, 1/11…she swiped a career-high eight steals against No. 9 Louisville, 11/15, which were the most by an Aggie since 2004…she earned team's Miss Defense Award for the third straight year and the team's Miss Aggie Award.
2010-11: Carter was a member of the 2011 National Championship Team and was named NCAA Dallas Regional Most Outstanding Player…she was selected to the 2011 Big 12 All-Defensive Team and made 2011 All-Big 12 Honorable Mention…She appeared in all 38 games and started in all but two of them…she was the team’s third-leading scorer with 10.4 points per game and added 3.2 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.6 steals per game…she held an impressive 2:1 assist-to-turnover ratio…she registered her second straight 100+ assist season…she had a season and team-high 22 points, six rebounds and three steals versus No. 3 Baylor, 3/29, in the NCAA Regional Final…she scored 14 points against No. 2 Stanford, 4/3, in the NCAA National Championship Semifinals…she tallied a team-high 19 points and three steals versus No. 20 Oklahoma, 3/11, in the Big 12 Championship Semifinals…she matched her career-best with a team-high nine rebounds at Texas Tech, 2/5…she earned team's Miss Defense Award for the second straight year.
2009-10: Carter was named All-Big 12 Honorable Mention while averaging 7.6 points, 3.4 assists and 1.2 steals per game…she was named a team captain as a sophomore…she played in all 34 games of the season with 17 starts including 12 straight to conclude the season…she brought down a career-best nine rebounds against Nebraska, 3/13, in the Big 12 semifinals…she had a season-high seven assists versus Texas, 3/12, in the Big 12 quarterfinals…she turned in a career and team-best 24 points, six assists and just one turnover, and knocked down a career-high four 3-pointers against Kansas State, 2/13…she earned team's Miss Defense Award.
2008-09: Carter was named to the Big 12 All-Freshman Team, playing in 34 games of the season with one start…she averaged 4.3 points, 1.6 assists and 1.2 steals per game…she had a team-best 2.16 assist-to-turnover ratio.
