Indiana’s top draft pick in 2014, Natasha Howard is perhaps the most athletically gifted post player ever drafted by the Fever…she hopes to fill a power forward slot beside Tamika Catchings, Erlana Larkins and trade acquisition Lynetta Kizer.
Once regarded as the highest-ranked recruit in FSU history, she went on to become the Seminoles’ career double-double leader (41) and a starter for all but two games in her career…she finished as the school’s all-time leading rebounder (1,047), second in all-time scoring (1,811) and third in career blocks (186).
2013-14: Howard was named a WBCA honorable mention All-American, AP All-American and a Senior CLASS Second Team All-American…she finished the year averaging 20.5 points, 9.3 rebounds, 2.3 blocks and 2.1 steals per game…she finished the season with 675 total points, which is the second-most in a season at FSU…she was the only ACC player to rank in the Top 10 in the conference in scoring, rebounding, field goal percentage, steals and blocked shots…she tallied five 30-point games, the most by a Seminole in a single-season…she scored a school record 40 points on 14-of-19 shooting, including 12-of-15 from the free throw line against Syracuse, 2/2/14...she became the first ACC player since 2008 to have a 20-20 performance as she registered 28 points and 22 rebounds against Duke, 1/2/14.
2012-13: Named to the first-team All-ACC list by league media and second-team all-conference by ACC coaches, Howard ranked third in the ACC in double-doubles (11)…she led FSU in rebounding (7.5) and blocks (1.5) for the second consecutive season…she reached double figures in scoring in 26 of 33 games, including a pair of 20-point contests…she recorded a season-high 18 rebounds to go along with 18 points and three blocks against Georgia Tech, 1/3/13.
2011-12: Howard captured third-team All-ACC honors while leading the conference in double-doubles (12)…she led the conference in rebounding (9.4) in ACC games…she was the only Seminole to start all 31 games…she averaged 12.2 points and a team-leading 9.1 rebounds per game, while shooting 48.7 percent from the field…she led the Seminoles in blocks (1.3) and steals (1.5) per game, becoming the first Seminole to accomplish that feat since current assistant coach Brooke Wyckoff in 1998-99… she ripped down a then career-high 17 rebounds and scored 22 points versus Miami, 1/15/12…she scored a season-best 24 points against Akron, 12/10/11.
2010-11: Howard was named third team Freshman All-American by Full Court Press…she captured ACC All-Freshman honors…she ranked fourth on the team in scoring (10.6 ppg) and second in rebounding (6.6 rpg), 3-point percentage (.368), steals (36) and blocks (22)…she started all 32 games and averaged 25.5 minutes per game…she erupted for 20 points on 8-of-10 shooting in her first college game, 11/12/10 against Alabama State…her season-best 21 points came against Arizona State at the Junkanoo Jam in Freeport, Bahamas, 11/27/10.
