Emma Cannon (born June 01, 1989) is a forward for the Phoenix Mercury. She played college basketball at Florida Southern.

Signed as a free agent on February 8, 2017

Has played one season in the WNBA, spending her entire rookie season with the Mercury

Appeared in all 34 games for the Mercury in 2017…one-of-five players to do so

Holds career averages of 4.4 points and 3.6 rebounds per game

Scored a career-high 17 points on August 10, 2017 at Dallas

Grabbed a career-high 10 rebounds against Atlanta on September 3, 2017

Became the 15th rookie in team history to achieve 100 rebounds and the first since Brittney Griner in 2013…only the 10th rookie in team history with 100 rebounds if you exclude the Mercury’s 1997 inaugural season

Grabbed 122 rebounds on the season, which ranked as the 10th-most rebounds by a Mercury rookie in franchise history…DeWanna Bonner (2009) recorded the most in 2009

Ranked third among all WNBA rookies in rebounding per game (3.6) and finished seventh in scoring (4.4 ppg)

Led the Mercury bench in rebounding 17 times on the season

Led all WNBA rookies in field goal percentage at 49.1-percent

 

COLLEGE CAREER

Spent three seasons of college at Central Florida where she averaged 13.0 points and 10.1 rebounds in 89 games played

Transferred to Southern Florida for her senior season where she was a NCAA Division-II All-American Honorable Mention in 2011

 

INTERNATIONAL

Played for Chevakata in the 2016-17 offseason…led the Russian League in scoring at 20.0 ppg, ranking ahead of Diana Taurasi (18.5 ppg, 2nd) and Brittney Griner (17.1 ppg, 3rd)…only player in the Russian League to average a double-double after also averaging 10.1 rebounds per game
