#WNBAKicks: Diana Taurasi Stays True To The King

NEW YORK – If you have kept up with sneaker social accounts, you must have seen Diana Taurasi’s selection of #WNBAKicks this season.

The all-time leading scorer in WNBA history has had a history and loyalty to one signature shoe style – LeBrons – and broke out the special #LeBronWatch Orange Box 15s on opening night.

“Had to break them out,” Taurasi said. “My boy Bronny sent them over – I’ve been a die-hard LeBron sneakerhead for a long time.”

Taurasi chose the Nike LeBron 15 as her shoe of choice this season, calling it one of the best so far.

“I fell in love with the LeBron 10s, I wore those for about five-and-a-half years and I didn’t switch over until the 14s,” Taurasi said. “Now I think these by far have eclipsed comfort level of any basketball shoe I’ve ever worn.”

Taurasi certainly looked comfortable as she recorded her 8,000th career point Tuesday in Phoenix’s 80-74 win in Madison Square Garden vs the New York Liberty in her Nike LeBron 15 PEs. Taurasi’s LeBrons have continued to dazzle fans this season as she has rolled out several variations of Phoenix Mercury-inspired colors.

But when asked to give her favorite shoes all-time on the court and off, Taurasi goes with the classics, as well as something to rock, inspired by soccer.

“My favorite basketball shoe is the ’92 Nike Uptempo – white/black/turquoise or you can go with the all black/white, which I loved,” Taurasi said about her favorite shoe all-time on the court.

“Off the court, I like my Flyknits,” said Taurasi of the popular Nike technology. “I like the Ronaldo Flyknits even though I’m a Messi fan.”
