WNBA Players Help Raise Money For Hurricane Harvey Victims
WNBA players and teams have rallied together to raise money for those affected by Hurricane Harvey. Sisters and Houston natives, Chiney and Nneka Ogwumike, have set a challenge for WNBA teams and players to donate towards the relief efforts. They have been showing support for the campaign on social media using the hashtag #HarveyUNited.

Chiney and Nneka have broadened the challenge to all professional athletes, while Chiney also challenged her fellow Standford alums to donate.

Candace Parker accepted Nneka’s challenged and matched her donation of $1,000.

Brittney Griner is another Houston native who has spearheaded an initiative with the Phoenix Mercury, who will donate part of the proceeds from their game Sunday against the Atlanta Dream to the relief efforts.

Chiney’s Connecticut Sun are donating during playoff games and have challenged other WNBA teams to do the same in the post-season.
