Indiana Continues to Roll
Fever Stay Hot, Edge Comets:
After beginning the season winners of eight of their first nine, the Fever hit a bit of a rough spot and dropped three of their next five contests. Indiana, though, seems to have gotten back on track and has now reeled off four consecutive wins after Tuesday's 79-77 victory over the Houston Comets. Trailing by six, the Fever held the Comets to only 10 points in the final quarter, outscoring them by eight, to steal the win. Tamika Catchings finished with a game-high 23, pulled down six rebounds and dished out five assists, while Tammy Sutton-Brown added 20 points and six boards. Indiana is 7-3 in its last 10 games and currently holds the best record in the league, with a 14-4 mark. For the Comets, who have dropped two of their last three, Latasha Byears scored 15 and grabbed six rebounds.

Balanced Scoring Leads Shock Past Sky:
After dropping three in a row, the Shock have now won two straight thanks to stellar all-around offensive performances. Just days after setting league records for most points scored in a quarter (40) and a half (72), Detroit shot 52 percent from the floor and had five players reach double figures in scoring in a 92-84 triumph over the Sky on Tuesday. Similar to Sunday against the Mercury, the Shock found themselves trailing at the half only to put together a dominant third quarter to cruise to the win, outscoring Phoenix by seven in the period. Swin Cash led the way, hitting 7-of-10 shots from the floor to finish with 20 points, while Deanna Nolan added 18. Jia Perkins scored 20 in the defeat.

"We just focused on getting into the playoffs. If you keep playing the way we were playing, you're not going to get there. We had to be fourth at the (All-Star) break."
-- Storm guard Iziane Castro Marques on Seattle's mindset going into Tuesday's game against the Sparks. Castro Marques finished with a team-high 19 points in the Storm's 82-47 win in Los Angeles

All-Star Lauren Jackson has been nothing short of outstanding thus far this season for the Seattle Storm. Leading the team in points, rebounds and blocks on the year, Jackson once again propelled her team to victory, an 82-47 wire-to-wire win over the Los Angeles Sparks on Tuesday afternoon. The 6-5 forward/center finished with 18 points, pulled down a game-high 13 boards, dished out three assists and blocked one shot. Iziane Castro Marques added 19 points for Seattle. Nakia Sanford entered Tuesday averaging 9.9 points and 6.8 rebounds per game, well above her career averages. She certainly upped those stats with her impressive performance in a 91-83 overtime victory against the Lynx. Sanford shot 8-of-12 from the floor to tie a career high with 25 points and pulled down 10 rebounds. With her team struggling offensively and trailing in the third quarter, the forward out of Kansas scored 17 to put her team ahead going into the final quarter. In overtime, Sanford also scored the go-ahead basket with just over three minutes remaining.
