It Takes Two to Tango
Sky Finally Streaking:
Forty games into franchise history and Chicago has now earned its first winning streak. After going 5-29 in 2006, its inaugural season, and starting the 2007 campaign 1-3, the team has run off back-to-back wins for the first time. Friday's 75-70 win in Washington was followed on Sunday with a 78-72 home victory over the Lynx. The Sky, who led by as many as 18 points and never trailed, got 20 points and 11 rebounds from Candice Dupree, while Dominique Canty added 16 points and five assists. Chasity Melvin scored 12 in her first home game with Chicago.

A Win Is a Win:
It might not have been the prettiest game in WNBA history, but all that matters is the final score. Indiana turned the ball over 27 times, helping to set the league record for most combined turnovers by two teams in a non-overtime game (52). And the Fever also set a WNBA record by going the first 13:32 of the game without hitting a field goal - that's the entire first quarter and a big chunk of the second period. Somehow, they still managed to hold off Washington for a 70-66 win at home. Tan White scored 16 of her game-high 20 points in Indiana's 24-16 second quarter, and Tamika Catchings added 15.

"This is the best she's played since she's been here. I left her alone tonight. If she needed a call, she looked at me. Otherwise, she made the call. I have that much confidence in her to run this team."
-- Liberty head coach Pat Coyle on guard Loree Moore, who poured in a career-high 21 points to go with a career-high-tying nine rebounds in a win over Phoenix.

The Liberty needed a little bit of good fortune to continue their hot streak to start the season. Jessica Davenport delivered, catching an inbounds pass and hitting a bank shot off the glass with 6.9 seconds left despite being hacked across the arms. She connected on the freebie, and Phoenix came up empty on its final possesssion, as New York earned a dramatic 83-82 matinee win on Sunday. Their 4-0 record marks the longest winning streak to start a Liberty season since they started the inaugural 1997 campaign at 7-0. Davenport poured in nine of her 15 points in the fourth quarter.

Early in her WNBA career, Minnesota's Lindsey Harding has established herself as a solid all-around talent, averaging 11.8 points, 3.7 rebounds and 4.3 assists over her first six professional games. She kept that trend going on Sunday, posting 14 points, five boards and five dimes, but it wasn't enough as her Lynx were unable to completely overcome what had once been an 18-point deficit in an eventual 78-72 defeat in Chicago.
