What To Watch For: Lynx vs. Sparks Rematch on NBA TV

After handing the L.A. its first loss of the season, Minnesota will host the rematch on Friday at 8 PM ET on NBA TV. As the WNBA’s elite square off once more, here are three things worth looking for come tip-off:

1) Maya Moore and Candace Parker combined for 17 points on 6-22 shooting in their previous matchup. The All-Star forwards are averaging a combined 34.6 points per game this season, each registering a season-high of 34.

With Minnesota’s undefeated mark on the line, and Los Angeles seeking to avenge its first loss, look for Moore and Parker to be aggressive in their rematch.

2) In their first matchup, both teams fell below their season averages for assists, combining for only 34 dimes on 53 field goals. L.A. and Minnesota rank first and second in assists per game, respectively. Despite her aforementioned off shooting night, Parker got her teammates involved, finishing with six assists. If she finds rhythm for her own offense, and continues crashing the boards (7.4 per game), she could crash Minnesota’s undefeated party.

3) Nneka Ogwumike took only three shots versus Minnesota, making two. Leading the league with 69.1 percent shooting, she will oppose Sylvia Fowles and her 58.6 percent clip. Fowles took only five shots in the first meeting. It will be key for both teams to move the ball and find their most efficient shooters down low, especially if this matchup is another close affair.
