Fever Guard Shenise Johnson Out For Season With Torn ACL

INDIANAPOLIS – Indiana Fever guard Shenise Johnson will miss the remainder of the 2017 season after sustaining a torn anterior cruciate ligament in her left knee during Tuesday’s practice session at Bankers Life Fieldhouse.

Johnson, a sixth-year pro who averaged 11.3 points and 5.9 rebounds per game through 14 appearances, was the Fever’s third-leading scorer. Ranked second in the WNBA in free throw percentage (95 percent), she ranks first in Indiana history with a career percentage of 88 percent, having made 77 of 79 attempts dating to the midpoint of last season. She had a career-high 24 points in this year’s season opener at Seattle.

A full recovery is anticipated. She is expected to return for the 2018 WNBA season.
