The Connecticut Sun's Tina Charles was named the EuroLeague's Player of the Week for Week 9, just barely edging out Phoenix's DeWanna Bonner in the efficiency index rating. Charles' 25 points, 12 rebounds and three blocks came in a 74-66 loss to Beretta-Familia, the offseason home of New York's Janel McCarville. The Liberty center tallied 13 points, eight boards and four steals in the win.

Euroleague Leading Scorers

In the wake of losing 2010 MVP Lauren Jackson for up to three months with an Achilles' injury, Spartak signed veteran Taj McWilliams-Franklin to give them some size and experience down the middle.

While Fenerbahce may have already announced the signing of Atlanta's Angel McCoughtry, they recently added a little extra firepower in announcing a deal for Connecticut's Anete Jekabsone-Zogota.
