Euroleague Wrap: Angel McCoughtry Named Player of the Week

Atlanta's Angel McCoughtry closed out Week 8 of the Euroleague with Player of the Week honors after posting 39 points and pulling in eight rebounds in a 91-82 loss to Fenerbahce.

Phoenix's Penny Taylor notched 37 points in the Fener win over McCoughtry's MKB club, moving her into third place in the scoring race and in Player of the Week rankings. Additionally, Fenerbahce improved to a perfect 8-0, marking them as the only undefeated team in the league.

McCoughtry's performance was good enough to help her leapfrog Phoenix's DeWanna Bonner in the scoring race, cranking her average up to 22 points per game and moving her into second place behind Diana Taurasi.

Cheryl Ford reclaimed sole possession of first place in the battle of the boards, boosting her average to 14 per game after posting 20 points and 20 rebounds in a 71-64 win over Gorzow. Connecticut's Tina Charles remains a close second with 12.6 per.
