Elena Delle Donne Out At Least Two Weeks With Thumb Injury

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Washington Mystics forward Elena Delle Donne will miss at least the next two weeks following a torn ulnar collateral ligament in her left thumb. The injury occurred in the first quarter of the game against the Atlanta Dream on July 30.

Delle Donne will undergo surgery tomorrow to repair the thumb and will be evaluated after two weeks. She is expected to return by the end of the regular season.

“We have had numerous injuries this year and have gotten through them. We will do the same for the next couple of weeks and look forward to having Elena back for the playoffs,” said Head Coach Mike Thibault.
