The Road Home: Vickie Johnson made her return to New York a memorable one as she led the Silver Stars to a 91-78 win over the Liberty. Johnson played her first nine WNBA seasons in New York, but held nothing back Friday night as she scored 19 points on 8-of-13 shooting. Six Silver Stars scored in double figures as the team shot a season-high 57 percent from the floor.

Actually, it seems that she won't be changing her routine very much at all. Phoenix announced Friday that Pettis, a member of the original Mercury squad in 1997, would become an assistant coach. WHAT THEY'RE SAYING
"My heart will always be in New York, I love the fans. The opportunity to play here was great for nine years. The main thing for me was not to beat the Liberty, it was to help my team win. It was difficult playing against Becky Hammon, but I couldn't think about that. I just had to go out and play."
