TODAY'S TOP STORY
Home Sweet Home: With Saturday's comfortable 88-70 win over New York, the Mystics improved to a perfect 6-0 at the MCI Center this season. Nikki Teasley and Alana Beard poured in 26 points apiece for Washington. Meanwhile in Detroit, the Shock rolled over the Comets to improve to 4-0 at the Palace. Deanna Nolan (20 points, nine rebounds, seven assists) and Cheryl Ford (18 points, 12 rebounds) had big efforts in the 71-55 victory.

ALSO MAKING HEADLINES ...
Well-Traveled: On the flip side of that coin lie the Silver Stars, who are just 1-4 at home but an impressive 5-0 on the road after Saturday night's 69-65 win over the expansion Sky. Agnieszka Bibrzycka scored 16 and Shannon Johnson and Sophia Young added 15 apiece for San Antonio, which will try to keep it's streak intact with visits to Sacramento, Seattle and Los Angeles this week.

Kara Lawson has split her time this season between the starting five and the bench, and is capable of contributing from both spots. In her fourth game as a reserve, the former Volunteer scored 13 of her 16 points after halftime as the 2005 Champion Monarchs came back to top the Storm, 2004 Champions, 76-74 at home.

FILLING THE BOX SCORE
Alana Beard had her second huge game this week and helped the Mystics continue their home dominance. The third year guard-forward sank all 10 of her free throws en route to 26 points and added nine rebounds, four assists, five steals and a block in Saturday's 88-70 victory over the Liberty.
