Koehn
TODAY'S TOP STORY
The Sting saw a hint of what Washington's Laurie Koehn was capable of on Tuesday. They saw a lot more on Thursday. Koehn, who hit a 3-pointer for her only points in Tuesday's clash, buried three 3-pointers Thursday on her way to 12 points on 4-of-4 shooting from the floor. Her production off the bench helped spark the Mystics to a 96-77 win at Charlotte. It was the first road win for Washington, which is 5-0 at home. The second-year guard entered the game with a season total of 14 points in 32 minutes before nearly matching that in just 20 minutes of action.

ALSO MAKING HEADLINES ...
Big Numbers: After scoring a total of just 14 points in her last two games, Seattle's Lauren Jackson broke out on Thursday. The 6-5 Jackson posted 27 points, 10 rebounds, six blocks and four assists in a 74-61 win at Chicago.

Bond

WHAT THEY'RE SAYING
"It was a great opportunity. We had two players down, so I just wanted to step in and lead and control the team and get a victory."

--Charlotte rookie guard LaToya Bond after scoring 14 points in a 96-77 loss to the Mystics. It was her first start due to injuries to regular starters Helen Darling and Tammy Sutton-Brown.

Currie
ROOKIE WATCH
Monique Currie entered the night with a solid average of 9.4 points a game, but turned in a performance that showed why the Sting took her with the third pick in this year's WNBA Draft. The former Duke star hit 13-of-16 free throws en route to a season-high 22 points in a 96-77 loss to the Mystics. She added seven rebounds and three assists.

Milton-Jones
FILLING THE BOX SCORE
It is just nine games into the season, but it is already pretty apparent how vital DeLisha Milton-Jones is to the success of the Mystics. Washington is 0-3 in games in which she scores 11 or fewer points and 6-0 in the games in which she scores 12 or more. She led the way in Thursday night's 96-77 win at Charlotte with 17 points, 10 rebounds, four assists and two steals.
