Douglas
GAME OF THE NIGHT
The Sun continues to shine bright in Connecticut. The reigning Eastern Conference champs are off and running once again this season -- to the tune of a 6-1 record after Friday's 85-81 home win over Seattle. This one didn't come easily, however. The Sun led by 15 midway through the third but had to stave off a Storm surge over the final 15 minutes before coming away with the W. Katie Douglas' 18 points led Connecticut, which saw all five starters reach double figures.

ALSO MAKING HEADLINES ...
No Swoopes, No Swoon: Houston was without MVP Sheryl Swoopes for a second straight game due to back spasms, but the Western Conference-leading Comets still had their way against the Liberty, rolling 97-62 at home.

Digging In: Chamique Holdsclaw already appears to be in top form. In just her second game of the season, the Sparks star shot 7-of-10 for 15 points off the bench in a 73-65 home win over the Sky.

Sutton-Brown

WHAT THEY'RE SAYING
"Rebounding was the key difference ... and being able to hold Tamika Catchings to only nine points which was phenomenal."

-- Sting center Tammy Sutton-Brown, on the keys to Friday night's 70-59 triumph over the Fever.

Augustus
ROOKIE WATCH
Chalk up another top-notch outing from the top pick in the draft. With her 27-point outing in Friday's 86-79 Lynx win over the Silver Stars, Seimone Augustus has reached 20 points in six of her first seven WNBA contests.

Whalen
FILLING THE BOX SCORE
Lindsay Whalen, just now nearing 100 percent after her ankle injury in last year's playoffs, was more than comfortable driving the lane Friday. She shot 11-of-12 from the free-throw line en route to 17 points, seven rebounds and nine assists in Connecticut's victory over Seattle.
