Young
GAME OF THE NIGHT
Because they went 2-15 on the road last season, the Silver Stars figured to be in for a tough start to 2006 with four of their first six games away from home. Apparently, a year does make a very big difference. Rookie Sophia Young sank three free throws in the final 42.6 seconds and San Antonio overcame a 14-point deficit en route to an 89-87 win over the Storm that improved the league's best road record to 4-0. Kendra Wecker keyed the comeback, scoring 13 of her 15 points in the second half, while Young finished with 14 points and 11 rebounds. The Stars play their next three games at home before visiting expansion Chicago on June 17.

ALSO MAKING HEADLINES ...
Better than Halley's: It's way too early to know which is the league's best team right now, but the Comets have staked their claim as the hottest. Michelle Snow paced five players in double figures with a career-high 24 points as Houston won its fifth in a row, 85-62 over visiting Minnesota on Sunday. Since a season-opening loss to San Antonio, Houston has outscored its last five opponents by 17.4 points per game and has not trailed at any point in 19 consecutive quarters. There was, however, some bad news for the Comets on Sunday as three-time MVP Sheryl Swoopes was forced to leave the game in the fourth quarter with a back injury after she crashed hard to the floor. Swoopes is questionable for the Comets' game at Washington on Tuesday.

Cowens

WHAT THEY'RE SAYING
"It's a long season. If we win five or six in July, no one will remember this. We're just playing teams that are better than us right now."

-- Sky coach Dave Cowens on his team's fifth straight loss, 81-66 to visiting Detroit on Sunday.

Augustus
ROOKIE WATCH
If one thing has been proven early this season, it's that Seimone Augustus is already a force to be reckoned with. The top overall draft pick out of LSU reached the 20-point plateau for the fifth straight game on Sunday, scoring 20 in Minnesota's 85-62 road loss to red-hot Houston. Augustus leads the WNBA in scoring (22.7) and in field-goals made (52).

Swoopes
FILLING THE BOX SCORE
Because she left midway through the fourth quarter with a back injury, it's easy to forget just how good a game Sheryl Swoopes had on Sunday. Before departing, Swoopes had 13 points, eight rebounds, six assists and one block as Houston improved to a league-best 5-1 with an 85-62 home win over Minnesota.
