Nolan
GAME OF THE NIGHT
Talk about a wild finish. There were four lead changes and a tie in the final 24 seconds of Thursday's game between the Liberty and Shock. New York's Ashley Battle scored five of her 18 points in the final 12.5 seconds, but it wasn't enough. Deanna Nolan delivered a layup with 1.4 seconds to play as Detroit pulled out a 64-63 victory at home. Battle hit a 3-pointer to knot the game with 14.5 ticks left and gave the Liberty a 63-62 lead with 4.1 to go after Nolan went 1-of-2 from the line. But Nolan, who made just two of her first 10 shots, came through when it mattered most.

ALSO MAKING HEADLINES ...
Streaks Survive: Detroit's last-second win gave the Shock their fourth straight victory over the Liberty. The Sun entered Thursday with four straight wins of their own over the Sting and pushed that streak to five with an 89-65 road win. Nykesha Sales led four Connecticut players in double figures with 18 points as the Sun improved to 3-1.

Sutton-Brown

WHAT THEY'RE SAYING
"There are definitely advantages since we just played them now. On our board [in the lockerroom] there was a word ‘pride.’ That’s what we’ve got to do. We’ve got to play with pride, and we’ve got to put individual pride aside. We’ve got to play better together. That’s exactly how we are going to win ... We have to go up there on Saturday and do that.."

-- Charlotte's Tammy Sutton-Brown on the Sting facing the Sun again on Saturday.
