Whitmore
TODAY'S TOP STORY
A lot has changed since the Fever and Liberty met in the playoffs last season, but the end result has not. Only four of the 10 starters returned from last year's postseason meeting when the two teams squared off Tuesday. But Indiana, which swept a two-game playoff series from New York last year, remained the league's only unbeaten team with a 91-70 victory over New York, which fell to 0-3. Tamika Whitmore and Tan White combined for 47 points for the Fever, which will try to stay unblemished on Wednesday night at Houston.

Leslie Stays Hot: Lisa Leslie was honored Tuesday as the season's first WNBA Player of the Week and picked up right where she left off. Leslie poured in 19 points, 16 rebounds and four blocked shots in a 64-55 victory at Chicago as the Sparks improved to 3-1 on a season-opening six-game road trip.

WHAT THEY'RE SAYING
"She is maturing. She is very talented. When she makes her jump shot she really plays well. She’s more disciplined. Last year she would have just gone to the basket.”

-- Indiana coach Brian Winters on the play of second-year player Tan White, who scored 25 for Indiana on Tuesday.
