Jackson
TODAY'S TOP STORY
Seattle's Lauren Jackson bounced back from a nine-point performance in Tuesday's loss to the Comets in a major way on Thursday night. The 6-5 Jackson exploded for a career-high 35 points in a 94-81 victory at Phoenix. The two teams combined to put on an offensive showcase as Seattle came within one of the most single-game points in franchise history and Phoenix's Diana Taurasi came within three of her career best by scoring 28.

ALSO MAKING HEADLINES ...
Comets Soar in Sacramento: The Monarchs knocked off the Comets on their way to the championship last season, but Houston gained a measure of revenge on Thursday night. Sheryl Swoopes and Tina Thompson combined for 41 points in an 81-66 victory at Sacramento.

Curry

WHAT THEY'RE SAYING
"I think with any rookie there are still adjustments. The game is different. There are much better players in this league and you have to be ready every night. I like this style and I like our coaching style. You are really allowed the freedom in this league to show your talents and work toward your strengths."

-- Charlotte rookie Monique Currie on her first season in the WNBA after Thursday's 76-63 win over the Mystics.
