The WNBA Coaches' Game Plan assists basketball coaches at all levels in teaching the fundamentals of the game. But it can also help younger players, both girls and boys, to learn the game as well. Just follow this instructional guide and connect with others in the Fan Voice to share your passion and knowledge of the game.

More Plays
The Give and Go
This week's featured play is one of the most basic plays in basketball. One player "gives," or passes the ball to a teammate, then "goes" and cuts to the basket to receive a return pass for the shot. It works at every level.

The Back Door Pass
This week's featured play is, when executed properly, one of the most valuable scoring plays in all of basketball. A post player has to sell the fake on the wing, then cut to the basket and receive a good pass from a teammate underneath the basket.

The Pick and Roll
While the pick is something that players of all ages and experiences can learn, the roll often takes longer to master. Both the dribbler and the player screener must be on the same page for the play to work.
