The 12 WNBA head coaches will select the reserves by voting for six players within their own conference: two backcourt players, three frontcourt players, and a player from either position. Coaches are not permitted to vote for players on their own team. The league will announce the reserves during ESPN2’s national telecast of the Los Angeles Sparks and Mercury on Tuesday, July 21 at 11 p.m. ET.
Take a look at what players were voted by the fans to be starters.
Elena Delle Donne has taken home Player of the Week honors three times this season and has scored more than 40 points in a game twice.
Shoni Schimmel was voted into the WNBA All-Star Game for the second time in as many seasons.
The Indiana Fever’s Tamika Catchings will make history on July 25 when she plays in her 10th WNBA All-Star Gane — the most all-time.
Tina Charles has helped guide the Liberty to the top of the Eastern Conference and is seventh in the league in scoring (16.2 PPG) and has recorded five double doubles.
Angel McCoughtry has helped keep Atlanta afloat in a tightly contested Eastern Conference through the first half of the season.
Before her ACL injury, Skylar Diggins was having an incredible season for the Tulsa Shock, leading them to the top of the Western Conference at the time.
Augustus has been consistent as she’s ever been and is ninth in the league in scoring this season.
The reigning WNBA Most Valuable Player has come on as of late and is pacing a Lynx offense that is posting a 103 offensive rating and scoring 76.5 points per game.
She’s only played six games but Griner has definitely made an impact in Phoenix, averaging 17.8 points and 8 rebounds per contest.
Candice Dupree was leaned on early in the season to help shoulder the scoring load without Griner in the fold, and she’s done quite well.
