Washington Mystics Select Tayler Hill

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Washington Mystics selected Tayler Hill in the first round (4th overall) of the 2013 WNBA draft.

A 5-10 guard from Ohio State University, Hill averaged 15.3 points and 3.9 rebounds per game during her career as a Buckeye. During her senior year, she led the Big Ten with 22.3 points per game while being ranked 11th in scoring in Division I with 21.1 points per game. Hill also earned First Team All-Big Ten and All-Defensive Team honors for three consecutive years. She finished her collegiate career as the fourth-ranked scorer in school history (2,015), second in free throws made (581), second in free throws attempted (747), sixth in three-point field goals made (194) and eighth in steals (240). A native of Minneapolis, MN, Hill is the all-time leading scorer (boy or girl) with 3,888 points in Minnesota high school history.

The Washington Mystics will open the 2013 season on Monday, May 27 against the Tulsa Shock in a game that will be televised on ESPN2 at 3:00 pm. Washington’s home opener is set for June 2 at 4:00 pm against the Atlanta Dream.
