Tierra Ruffin-Pratt Abroad

Tierra Ruffin-Pratt took some time out of her busy schedule playing in Israel to talk with WashingtonMystics.com about her time abroad.

WashingtonMystics.com: What do you like the most about playing abroad?

Tierra Ruffin-Pratt: Being able to experience the different cultures.

WashingtonMystics.com: What do you miss most from the US?

Tierra Ruffin-Pratt: The thing I miss most about the US is my family. Even though I talk to them almost everyday not seeing them is tough.

WashingtonMystics.com: What is your favorite country that you have visited?

Tierra Ruffin-Pratt: Well since I'm in Israel we only play teams in Israel haven't had a chance to experience other countries. But Israel is a really nice place. Its a place not many people get to see.

WashingtonMystics.com: What is the coolest sight you have seen?

Tierra Ruffin-Pratt: The coolest place was the Dead Sea. It was amazing how you just floated on the water. Jerusalem was pretty cool experience as well.

WashingtonMystics.com: What is your favorite food you have found abroad?

Tierra Ruffin-Pratt: I haven't really tried anything different.

WashingtonMystics.com: How does the style of basketball differ from the WNBA?

Tierra Ruffin-Pratt: The competition is not as good as in the States and the coaching styles are a little different as well.

WashingtonMystics.com: What is it like playing against your Mystics teammates in foreign countries?

Tierra Ruffin-Pratt: I haven't played of my mystics teammates.

WashingtonMystics.com: What advice would you give a player who has never played abroad?

Tierra Ruffin-Pratt: Be prepared for a different experience its one that you can't really prepare for. But its an experience that will last a lifetime.

WashingtonMystics.com: How do you adjust to playing on a team where all the players donít necessarily speak the same language?

Tierra Ruffin-Pratt: Well its not that difficult for me because all of my teammates speak english. Some aren't as fluent but they know enough to get their point across. But you pick up on key words and phrases from the players to help you understand them better.
