Maurita Reid Added to Mystics Roster

Head Coach and General Manager Trudi Lacey announced today that the team has signed 5-8 guard Maurita Reid to the roster. Reid is currently playing in Croatia where she is averaging 17 points, five rebounds and five steals per game.

A graduate of the University of Miami, Reid was named to the ACC All-Defensive team for the 2007-08 season. Reid attended Monroe Community College before transferring to Miami. She was named the NJCAA All-Tournament MVP and completed her collegiate career averaging 16.1 points, 4.39 steals and 3.5 assists per game.

The Washington Mystics will tip off their 14th season on Saturday, June 4th on the road against the Connecticut Sun at 7:00 pm. Washington’s home opener at Verizon Center is Saturday, June 11th at 7:00 pm against the Chicago Sky.
