MYSTICS HEAD COACH TRUDI LACEY

Overall Thoughts on the game:
“I thought we showed a lot of fight and a lot of toughness against Chicago. Chicago is a very good team, they have two Olympians. We are trying to get better every day and improve. We ask our team to work on specific things, one of them is consistency, and I felt like we improved our consistency very much this game. I felt like we played through a lot of things and everybody made a contribution. We just have to continue to stay positive. Tonight I thought we played hard for four quarters plus.”

MYSTICS GUARD JASMINE THOMAS

On her go ahead three point shot in overtime:
“You have to be patient. Growing up they always say if you pass up your shot it comes back around to you and that’s the one you take. It just so happens that it was my turn to take the open shot."

On the thrilling win:
“It feels good! Anytime you can get a break when you’re fighting that hard it feels good.”

On her career high of eight assists:
“When I’m more aggressive and I’m not tentative I play better. People can play off of me and I can play off of them so I just felt comfortable and was just playing my game. "

MYSTICS GUARD MATEE AJAVON

On the overtime period:
“We just tried to jab them first. We know that Chicago is a tough team. Dealing with Epiphany [Prince] and Sylvia Fowles and a play creator like Ticha [Penicheiro] we knew it was going to be a tough one. Within those five minutes we just tried to be aggressive and get the win.”

On her game-tying shot :
“The play was for Noelle to drive to the basket and if she didn’t have something to kick it off and make a play. Fortunately we [executed].”

On the relief getting two clutch shots :
“It’s one of those things where you can breathe easy. We’re glad we were able to get the win. We stayed aggressive and that was the most important thing.”
