MYSTICS HEAD COACH TRUDI LACEY

Thoughts on the game:
“We got off to a slow start. We let them score 35 points in the first quarter so not indicative of the defense we’ve been playing. After that, especially in the second half, we held them to 10 points and 11 points. The bottom line is we have to find a combination and to come out with energy and execute in the beginning of the game so that we can stop getting in the hole.”

Adjustments made at half time to slow them down offensively:
“The first quarter it was our one on one defense. We were just leaving people open and we talked about that. We need to have some pride in our defense and getting down and stopping people. We got back to our basic schemes and playing our basic defense we’ve been playing all season long.”

MYSTICS FORWARD CRYSTAL LANGHORNE

Overall thoughts on the game:
“I know I missed a lot of box-outs, rebounding, and they kept getting second chance opportunities and our defense just wasn’t where it needed to be. It’s just about our defense.”

Thoughts on the second half:
“Just coming out with the intensity and ready to play, I think we gain momentum way too slow, we are still trying to figure out what it is.”

MYSTICS CENTER MICHELLE SNOW

Overall thoughts on the second half:
“We were ready to play. We have to start the game ready to play. We cannot keep digging these twenty-four point holes and using so much energy to come back.”

Thoughts on rebounding:
“I think it’s a matter of effort, all of us have to give effort even me. We need to give more effort every play and every day that’s the bottom line.”
