Nakia has gone global this past year, playing in both Israel and South Korea.

There have been a lot of trades in the WKBL, and now I am playing with Chung Sung Min, the Korean player that was drafted by the Seattle Storm last season. We are playing well together, she plays the four position, and I am the five. So far, our season is going very well. I am excited about the team, and it looks like we will be going to the playoffs if we stay on track.
I have the most amazing view every morning when I go to practice. Our complex is nestled into a mountain. The sunsets are gorgeous. It sounds extreme and it is. When the snow falls it is so beautiful. The bad part is that I have to take an hour and fifteen minute train ride to get to Seoul. That is not so great, but I‘ll get used to it. My Korean is getting even better, and I am learning more about the culture everyday. After one of our games a reporter asked me, since I read and speak Korean pretty well, then why do I need a translator? Anna, my translator, wasn’t too happy with that question. But it was funny.
I miss my teammates in Israel a lot, the difference between there to here is drastic. I don’t have as much free time here, and I don’t do much but practice, eat rice, and play in the games. But I still feel like this is a great place to be. I get to focus on basketball, I don’t have as much fun outside of that, but it’s ok. I am trying to get buff for the upcoming Mystics season. You should see my muscles!!!!!! LOL. Just kidding, but I am lifting and getting stronger. I might be the only one, but I think my muscles are bigger!!!
There is not much else to tell, things are not as exciting here as in Israel. My mom and sister are coming to visit, so that should help me not be homesick for a little while. I have made some friends on the Youngsan Army Base in Seoul, so I get to be around other Americans whenever I have a day off. The shopping out here is addictive, so I am glad that I don’t have much free time.
Well, hope everyone is doing well back stateside and ready to cheer us on this summer. God bless.
