All Washington Mystics Home Games Broadcast Live on Monumental Network

First WNBA Team to Stream Games on Team-Owned Network

WASHINGTON, D.C. – All 17 Washington Mystics home games for the 2013 WNBA season will be streamed live on Monumental Network (www.monumentalnetwork.com) and free of charge to viewers within a 75-mile radius of Washington, D.C. The broadcasts will mark the first time a WNBA team will stream games on its own network as well as Monumental Network’s first venture into live broadcasts of sporting events. The first game scheduled to be broadcast will be on Sunday, June 2, when the Mystics tip-off their home schedule against the Atlanta Dream at 4 p.m.

The Mystics game broadcasts will provide unparalleled access to viewers, including pregame and postgame locker room speeches, in-game interviews with players, social media interaction and more. The broadcast team of play-by-play broadcaster Frank Hanrahan and analyst Christy Winters Scott will return for their fifth season. The duo will also host a pregame show that will lead into the broadcast, with Monumental Network’s Casey Phillips and Jumoke Davis serving as the team’s sideline reporters during games.

“We have seen Monumental Network continue to grow and establish itself as a top source for local sports information and programming, and the addition of live games is the logical next step for us,” said Monumental Sports & Entertainment founder Ted Leonsis. “We are also pleased that our first foray into live game broadcasting will allow us to feature the Mystics and provide a platform for both them and the WNBA.”

Viewers outside the 75-mile viewing radius or those wishing to watch the team’s away games can do so by signing up to WNBA Live Access on www.washingtonmystics.com.

The Mystics opened the 2013 season on Monday with a 95-90 overtime win against the Tulsa Shock in a game that was televised on ESPN2.
