Mystics 2011 Schedule Announced

The 2011 Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA) schedule was released today by the league office. The Washington Mystics’ 14th season will tip-off on the road for the third consecutive year when the team travels to Uncasville, CT, to face the Connecticut Sun on Saturday, June 4, at 7:00 pm. Washington will then visit the Eastern Conference Champion Atlanta Dream on Thursday, June 9, for a contest to be played on ESPN2 at 7:00 pm. The Mystics will return home for their opener on Saturday, June 11, at 7:00 pm against the Chicago Sky. Washington’s annual camp day game for local children’s camps and groups will be held on Wednesday, July 20, at 11:30 a.m. against the Dream.

“We are excited for the arrival of the 2011 WNBA season,” Mystics Chief Operating Officer Greg Bibb stated. “Over the coming weeks, we will announce our promotional schedule and theme nights for the upcoming campaign. Once again, our goal is to deliver world class basketball at an affordable price.”

Washington will play the majority of their games on the weekends with nine dates that include two Fridays, three Saturdays and four Sundays. Seven of the team’s 17 regular season games are scheduled for the month of August. The team’s longest home stand of the season will span four games from July 29 to August 12. In addition to the camp day game played on a Wednesday morning, the Mystics will also play four Tuesday games and three Thursday games.

The Mystics will have the eleventh overall pick in the WNBA draft to be held in April. In addition, the Mystics will have the 23rd pick (second round) and the 34th pick (third round).

In 2010, Washington recorded a franchise-best 22 wins and secured the top playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. In addition, Monique Currie, Lindsey Harding and Crystal Langhorne were named to the All-Star team, marking the first time that three Mystics players participated in an All-Star game.

Washington Mystics full season ticket packages start at just $99, and include all of our fantastic season ticket holder benefits. Full season tickets are available now by calling the Wizards and Mystics sales office at 202.661.5050.
