Mystics Make Weekend Cuts

The Washington Mystics today waived forward Courtney Coleman and center Tiffany Williams. Mystics forwards Chasity Melvin and Iciss Tillis will be in training camp on Monday, May 9th. Melvin was named Most Valuable Player of the Israeli league while Tillis helped lead her Polish team to the playoffs. Washington will make the final cut on May 20th. The Mystics training camp roster is as follows:

“We had to reduce our roster with the arrival of Chasity and Iciss”, said General Manager Linda Hargrove. “We are now starting to get key pieces back and we are excited to see our team starting to take shape.”

The 2005 Mystics season kicks off on Saturday, May 21st at 7:00 p.m. when the team travels to Charlotte to take on the Sting. Washington will have its home opener on Sunday, May 22nd at 6:00 p.m. versus Eastern Conference Champions Connecticut Sun.
