Assistant Coach Joins Team for Second Season
Washington, D.C. - Washington Mystics General Manager, Linda Hargrove announced today that Assistant Coach Crystal Robinson will return to Head Coach Tree Rollins’ coaching staff. Robinson recently completed her first season as a coach following her retirement from the game on May 31st, 2007. Per company policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.
“Crystal brings new ideas to what can be done on the court since she was a player not too long ago,” said Rollins. “We look forward to having her help develop our young players.”
Prior to joining the coaching ranks, Robinson had an illustrious career in both the ABL and the WNBA. She was named the ABL’s Rookie of the Year for the 1995-96 season and finished the season averaging 14.9 points per game and 3.4 assists per game. In 2006, Robinson joined the Mystics and helped return the team to the playoffs. She averaged 7.4 points per game and 2.6 rebounds per game that season. Robinson finished her WNBA career averaging 10.2 points, 2.7 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game
