MYSTICS NAME MICHAEL RAGAN SR. DIRECTOR OF SALES & CUSTOMER SERVICE

WASHINGTON, D.C. –Washington Mystics Chief Operating Officer Greg Bibb announced today that Michael Ragan has joined the team’s front office staff as the Senior Director of Sales and Customer Service. Ragan will guide the team’s sales efforts and will be responsible for driving ticket revenue.

“We are very fortunate to have someone of Mike’s expertise and experience join our staff,” Bibb stated. “Along with the continued leadership of Dana Simonelli, I believe the Mystics will enjoy a banner year from a sales perspective and I’m excited about our future as an organization.”

Ragan’s addition to the Mystics staff will allow current Mystics staffer, Dana Simonelli to transition to the newly created position of Director of Ticket Marketing and Promotions. In her new role, Simonelli will be responsible for specialty ticket plan development, theme night sales integration, and sales marketing initiative.

Ragan brings over 10 years of sales experience to the Mystics. He recently spearheaded the Inside Sales team of the Washington Nationals as the team relocated to their new stadium. Under his leadership, the staff reported revenue in excess of $1.0 M in six months.

Prior to joining the Nationals, Ragan served as the Director of New Business Development with the Florida Panthers and Sunrise Sports and Entertainment for four years. During his time in Florida, Ragan consistently led his group to impressive sales results, including $ 2.5M in sales for the 2005-06 season. Ragan also managed the game night box office and the reporting of gate gross and attendance numbers. Ragan has a wealth of knowledge of the metropolitan area as he also had stints with both the Washington Redskins and Capitals.

Ragan attended LaSalle University and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication. Michael and his wife Jennifer currently resides in Bethesda, MD.

The Washington Mystics will tip off the 2008 season on Saturday, May 17th, on the road against the Indiana Fever. Washington will host the club’s home opener on Sunday, May 25th, against the four-time WNBA Champion Houston Comets at 4:00 p.m. Individual tickets are currently on sale on www.ticketmaster.com.
