Marissa Coleman Returns to Action
Tuesday night was a big game for Mystics rookie Marissa Coleman. After sitting on the bench for six games with a high left ankle sprain, Coleman finally returned to action. Saturday night’s game against the L.A. Sparks is marked as a key matchup for Coleman against reigning MVP and Rookie of the Year Candace Parker.

Grand Larceny
The Mystics are second in the WNBA in steals per game averaging 10.10 per contest. Through ten games this season, Alana Beard ranks third in the WNBA in steals per game (2.90). In their recent loss against the Sky, Beard posted a new season high six steals. In 2008, the Mystics only averaged 7.1 steals per game and finished the season ranked 12th in the league in that category.

Board Work
This season the Mystics have proven to be hard on the offensive glass. Last year the team ranked 7th overall in offensive boards per game. So far this season the Mystics are currently ranked second with an average of 11.7 offensive rebounds per game.

Go Green
The Washington Mystics are partnering with Pepco to host the team’s first ever Go Green Night on Saturday, July 11 at 7:00 p.m. A Green Expo will take place on the Verizon Center concourse from 6:00pm through the end of the game. Companies and organizations will be present to give fans information on what it means to “Go Green”. In addition, the Mystics will host a denim drive where old jeans will be collected. The jeans will then be recycled and turned into natural cotton fiber insulation. All insulation created from the drive will be donated to underserved communities where homes are being built.
