MYSTICS COACH JULIE PLANK:
On Washington's defense:
"I thought our defense did well enough to win. We gave up 68 points, and they didn't shoot particularly well. Offensively we have to finish shots, and make free throws, which we struggled at. We turned the ball over uncharacteristically."
Moving on up
The Mystics are currently fourth in the WNBA in points per game, averaging 78.0 per contest. Washington finished the 2008 season ranked last in points per game, averaging 69.6 per game.
On Point
First-year Mystic Lindsey Harding has provided the team with a steady option at point guard. Harding is averaging a team-high 35.4 minutes per contest, the second highest average in the WNBA. In their most recent loss to the Chicago Sky, Harding played all but ten seconds of the game. Harding is also second in the WNBA in assists per game (6.3). Harding dished out a season high of nine assists in the Mystics first home loss against the Mercury.
