Open Mic:
MYSTICS HEAD COACH JULIE PLANK
On having a 10 point lead in the first quarter:
“I am proud of the team. We had turnovers at first. Our transition game looked good. Second quarter, we didn’t get to the basket as much as we did the first quarter. Third quarter, we fouled too much. They had 28 points at the line. Their threes and free throws made the difference.”
MYSTICS GUARD ALANA BEARD
On play at the end of the game:
“We were trying to just score quick and get the best shot possible. And I ended up getting a three point opportunity by hitting a two and then going to the line.”
MYSTICS CENTER CHASITY MELVIN
On Tuesday’s game at Indiana:
“We didn’t convert on critical plays. I think our lack of experience in close games is a factor. Also Katie Douglas getting to the free throw line was a big factor as well.”
