CAREFIRST BLUECROSS BLUESHIELD AND MYSTICS TO CONTINUE PARTNERSHIP

Insurance Provider to Support Community Program for Second Consecutive Year

Washington, D.C. –The Washington Mystics and CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield (CareFirst) have agreed to extend their corporate partnership, Mystics Chief Operating Officer Greg Bibb announced today.

CareFirst will once again donate $100.00 for every three pointer made by the Washington Mystics during the 2009 season in support of the Community 3’s program. Last season, CareFirst donated $25,000 to Girls, Inc, a youth organization dedicated to inspiring all girls to be strong, smart and bold. This year’s recipient will be the March of Dimes, the leading nonprofit organization for pregnancy and baby health.

“We have enjoyed our corporate partnership with CareFirst and we are excited to work with such an outstanding partner again in 2009,” Bibb stated. “We are proud to help the March of Dimes through our CareFirst relationship and we look forward to raising funds for the organization in 2009.”

The Washington Mystics will tip off the 2009 season on Saturday, June 6; on the road against the Connecticut Sun. Washington will host the club’s home opener on Sunday, June 7, against the Atlanta Dream.
