Mike Clapper

Mike hails from the Buckeye state, and for the past 35 years has been behind the microphone in one way or another in various capacities. Earlier in his career, Mike left his mark at 5 Midwestern radio stations as an on-air personality, news director, program director and station manager, before embarking on a successful executive sales career with RR Donnelley, the largest print communications company in the world. Mike says he is extremely fortunate to be in the position to be able to retire early from the corporate world, and pursue his PA and voice-over passion full-time with his own company, Full Court Press Game Day PA. In recent years, Mike has fulfilled over 60 annual contracted PA events with an emphasis on basketball, football and track & field. Mike's PA resume' also includes Conference USA basketball tournaments in Memphis, Louisville and Cincinnati, plus filled in for the Cleveland Cavaliers during their search for a fulltime PA. Mike was also one of the top 5 finalists for the Wizards PA position in 2010.

An admitted "running-addict", Mike enjoys competitive running and in fact was the 2006 RunOhio master runner of the year, and has posted personal bests of 34:10 for a 10K, 27:15 for five a miler and 16:06 for a 5K all in the +40 age group. Mike is married to wife Elaine, a recently retired high school computer art and ceramics teacher. Mike says he is absolutely thrilled and honored to be the Mystics PA and looks forward to being part of the Mystics game day team.
