WASHINGTON, D.C. – On Friday, April 13th, the Washington Mystics and the Get in the Game Lady Lawyers Basketball League hosted the first-ever Fantasy Camp with the Washington Mystics … Just for Lady Lawyers.

Washington DC-area lady lawyers, law students, and friends met on the Washington Mystics Practice Court to learn how to play like the pros (at least for a day).  Forty-five lady lawyers joined some of the best the WNBA has to offer, including the Washington Mystics coaching staff and General Manager Linda Hargrove for a unique adult skills clinic.

The Fantasy Camp is the first in the Mystics’ three-event series for women in the legal community.  Next up, Women in the Law Night, Tuesday, May 22nd, co-sponsored by the DC Women’s Bar Association and Get in the Game, features a networking reception followed by the Sacramento Monarchs vs. Mystics game.  A portion of proceeds from the evening’s festivities benefit Women Empowered Against Violence (WEAVE).  The Mystics cap off the summer schedule with Summer Associates Night on Tuesday, July 24th, featuring a pre-game reception for law firm summer associates and DC-area attorneys including a distinguished speaker.  The Lady Lawyers will then enjoy the Seattle Storm vs. Mystics game at 7:00PM.

The Get in the Game Lady Lawyers Basketball League, is a national organization of women attorneys, law students, and friends, offering weekly basketball leagues, and tournaments, to promote the benefits of physical activity, networking and camaraderie for women in the legal community.  For more information, visit www.getinthegamehoops.org.
