SACRAMENTO, CALIF., June 4, 2007 – The Sacramento Monarchs today announced that forward DeMya Walker underwent a MRI which confirmed a patellar tendon tear in her right knee. It also confirmed a sprain to her MCL in the same knee. She is expected to be out for the remainder of the 2007 season. Walker will undergo further evaluation and be scheduled for surgery at a later date.
On June 2, versus the Los Angeles Sparks Walker injured her right knee with 4:12 remaining in the first quarter at ARCO Arena. This is the same knee that Walker injured during the 2005 season and had to sit out 12 games due to a right knee sprain.
