SACRAMENTO, CALIF., May 16, 2008 – – The Sacramento Monarchs today announced that four WNBA All-Stars – Rebekkah Brunson, Kara Lawson, Ticha Penicheiro and Adrian Williams-Strong – will bolster the 2008 Monarchs roster in addition to the WNBA’s 2005 Most Improved Player in Nicole Powell, 2007 WNBA All-Defensive Second Team honoree in Chelsea Newton and veterans La’Tangela Atkinson, Scholanda Robinson and Kim Smith.

News additions to this year’s team include four 2008 WNBA draft picks: Laura Harper (First Round, 10th overall); A’Quonesia Franklin (Third Round, 38th overall), Izabela Piekarska (Third Round, 40th overall) and Charel Allen (Third Round, 43rd overall).
