“Well, the season has started off great for us (The Monarchs) even though we have had a few bumps along the road. We will continue to get better and win games. " “It is an adjustment from college to the WNBA. The girls are a lot faster and stronger and the speed of the game is more up-tempo and more intense. I haven't hit a wall yet. I just keep telling myself the season is almost over. It's a mental thing I just keep telling myself that I can rest after the season is over.” “I heard there are a couple thousand people coming to the game (from Lansing) and that's awesome. I feel very honored to be loved by the Lansing fans. I can't wait to go home and give back to the community what they have given to me and I am excited to go back to Detroit.” “Coming from Michigan to California wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. When I was at home (Michigan), school was only 15 min away so I was never really away from home, so I didn't know what to expect when I went out to California. But I am doing well out here. Yes I am home sick, but I have learned to adjust well here. I love it here its very nice.” “I really tried not to think about that. I was just very excited and honored to have the chance to play in the WNBA no matter which team picked me, I was going to be happy, although it would have been great to stay in Detroit to be closer to home.” “A few of my aunts, uncles and cousins have been out to Minnesota to see me, and a lot of my family came out to Indiana to see me play. My mom and grandmother have been out here (Sacramento) to see me play.” “I have an apartment out here by myself. Before, I never lived on my own I always had a roommate. But I like living by myself. I hate cooking but I do love living alone.” “I won't be going overseas this year. I will be going back and forth between Michigan and California. I want to stay in Sacramento and work out so I can get stronger for next year so I can go overseas.” “Well I only asked for 20 tickets for my immediate family to come to the game. The people who have always supported me. No one has come to me looking for tickets, I am glad that we have the support of the WNBA.” “Definitely, I have spoken with a lot of people actually. Coach Brown and I talk on a weekly basis. I keep in touch with a lot of the girls and a lot of them are coming to the game so I am excited for that.” “You know, just running the offense. First of all get my teammates the ball and get them open, and play good defense. I plan on coming home after the season is over for a little while and then in January or February go back to California and work out." “It definitely does. It's such an adjustment; the WNBA is so much different than college. I'm learning and I am trying to take everything in this year.” “I wont get into to town until the day of the game so there wont be much before the game but I know that a lot of people are sticking around after the game and maybe we will go out to a restaurant.” |
