July 10, SACRAMENTO -- The Sacramento Monarchs Organization announced today that John Whisenant (current Assistant General Manager of the Monarchs) has replaced Maura McHugh as the Interim Head Coach of the Monarchs for the remainder of the 2003 season.
The Monarchs plan to perform a nation-wide search for a new Head Coach of the Monarchs at the conclusion of the 2003 WNBA season.
Joining Interim Head Coach John Whisenant will be Coach Tom Abatemarco as the new Interim assistant head coach replacing Michele Cherry.
The Monarchs are very appreciative of all that Coach McHugh and Coach Cherry have done for the franchise.
