Taft: Edna how ya' doing. How do you feel knowing that you are now healthy and back in the league
Edna Campbell: It's good to just be out on the court doing something that I love to do.
Mary Allen, Hayward,Ca.: Do you still experience fatigue at times ? Edna, you continue to be an inspiration to myself and hundreds of women. And I am sure that the good that you are doing today will have a wonderous effect on the young women of tomorrow. Because all these 10& 20 year olds are listening and hopefully retaining the messages. I continue to pray for you and for all of us.
Edna Campbell: Thank you for your prayers and words of encouragement. I definitely feel fatigued at times, but that's part of being a professional athlete, but I don't feel more fatigued than usual.
Jenny: Hey EDNA! What has been your biggest inspiration since being diagnosed?
Edna Campbell: I'd have to say my son. Just always knowing that I want to be there for him and be the best Edna I can be for him. I'd say, without a doubt, my son.
tonitra: I just wanted to know the signs for breast cancer and if it is hereditary
Edna Campbell: The signs are pretty much a lump in your breast. That's one indication. But there are other forms that may not have noticeable symptoms. It's best for you to do self-exams and take any notes that you think. Get any clinical exams or mammograms.
laura (ct): hey... i met you at the mohegan sun casino when you first got in..i really appreciated the autograph...i just wanted to ask what i can do as a teenager to prevent breast cancer? thanks and keep up the good work!!
Edna Campbell: Thanks a lot. If there was a prevention, I'm sure someone would have already made that knowledge world-wide. As of now there is no prevention. But early detection is key. I urge women to pay attention to breast health and do self-exams and take notice of any changes in your breasts.
DiscoStu: Hey Edna. What was it like when you found out you could resume playing.
Edna Campbell: Exhillarating. I was relieved that I had weathered the storm in battling the disease.
Wendy from Worcester: Go Edna...you are an inspiration!! It's wonderful to see your strong presence back on the court!! I was wondering what advice you might have for building back strength and getting back to athletics after undergoing treatment?
Edna Campbell: My advice is to rest when you feel fatigued. Eat as healthy as possible and work hard. It'll take time for your body to get back into shape but there's nothing that hard work can't overcome.
Arielle(New Orleans): Congratulations on being cancer free! Has it hit you yet that you have made such an impact in so many lives, by being able to beat cancer and by also being able to play basketball again, which is amazing?
Edna Campbell: I'm thankful to be able to positively impact people's lives.
clay, san franciso: Edna, as a man, what can we do to be supportive of breast health for the women in our lives ??? Thanks, you're the greatest !!!
Edna Campbell: Thank you. Again, encourage the women in your life to pay attention to their breast health. And if someone is stricken with the disease, to be as supportive and let them know you're there for them regardless of their circumstances. Let them know you are with them unconditionally and you're always there as a source of strength.
Dion (New york): hi i love the way you play. Do you think b-ball helped you get through your hard times with Cancer?
Edna Campbell: Without a doubt. Basketball has always been a part of my life and it became a good distraction. Basketball was an outlet for me and made that journey through my battle a lot easier.
Corrie (Charlottesville): How does it feel to have won the war against cancer and then still be able to play in the WNBA? Where do you get your incredable strength from?
Edna Campbell: I'm just thankful that the strength is there. I thank God for every day that I have. I"m just out there doing what I love to do.
Kennebunkport: is it really hard to play after ur recovery?
Edna Campbell: Very hard. It was discouraging at times. My stamina wasn't there. I just stuck with it and started to turn the corner and got confident enough to get back on the court again.
Ashli Dayton, Ohio: Hi Edna! You came back after conquering breast cancer. How gratifying would it be to get the Championship, with your fellow Monarchs?
Edna Campbell: Now that would make it alllllllll worth the battle. That's any players dream and a goal of ours. It would be very rewarding winning the WNBA Championship.
Edna Campbell: I just want to say thank you all. Sorry I didn't get to all your questions, but I appreciate your words of encouragement. Take care.
