Monarchs Waive Two
SACRAMENTO, CALIF., May 7, 2004 - The Sacramento Monarchs today announced that the organization has waived Constance Jinks and Valerie King.

Jinks, a camp invitee, was initially selected in the third round (38th overall) in the 2003 WNBA Draft by the Houston Comets and was waived from the Comets on May 4, 2003. Jinks was waived from the Monarchs on April 24, 2004.

King, also a camp invitee, recently finished her four-year college career at the University of Cincinnati. She played seven minutes and scored three points in the Monarchs first preseason game against Minnesota. King was waived on May 6, 2004.

The Monarchs camp roster now stands at fifteen, with 10 returning players, two draft picks and three free agents.

The Sacramento Monarchs will play their sole home preseason game on Friday, May 14, versus the Seattle Storm at 7 p.m. at ARCO Arena. The first of eighteen home games will be played against the Minnesota Lynx on Opening Night, Saturday, May 22, at 7 p.m. at ARCO Arena. Sacramento’s regular season will begin on the road on Thursday, May 20, at the Phoenix Mercury at 7 p.m. at America West Arena. Limited tickets for Opening Night remain available.
